Secondary Schools

Ian Ramsey CE Academy

Fairfield Rd, Stockton-on-Tees TS19 7AJ, UK – 01642 585205

This is honestly the best secondary school I've ever been to. The staff are kind, caring and clearly know what they're doing. The spread of religions is almost perfect, except for the fact there is religions here. I know it's a religious school and all, but religion is pointless and purely just shows that people are stupid enough to disagree with the truth of how their is no God. Thanks. :)

a really nice school to go too never take bad comments seriously x

The Grangefield Academy

Oxbridge Ave, Stockton-on-Tees TS18 4LE, UK – 01642 353637

The school has been built from scratch just last year. Everything is clean and new and works. It's laid out with a good, thoughtful design. The staff are all really friendly and professional. My child has to be there by 08.10 in the morning, even though they don't start lessons until later, but it means they can get in and settle down and read for a while at the start of the day. School finishes at 14.35, so although they start early, they also finish early. The level of teaching is fantastic. I've yet to come across a bad teacher here. The food is ok, there is lots of choice, the only downside is you only get 25 minutes for dinner. I'd heartily recommend this school to anyone. One the very rare occasions that there has been any issue, school deal with the matter fast and efficiently.

Not keen to go there but its a alright peace to send kids a second option

Abbey Hill Academy

Ketton Rd, Stockton-on-Tees TS19 8BU, UK – 01642 677113

It is my son William Woods last day at school tomorrow in Abbey Hill Academy. He has been lucky enough to have had such an amazing teacher in Mr Andy Pearson. There are just not enough ways to say thank you to him, for all of the support he has given to William over the last 5 years. Andy has been incredible, such a tower of strength, and a massive influence, on what has been a massive journey for William. William will miss you so much Andy. He has put his total trust in you, and you have never let him down, never failed him, or myself. There will never ever be another teacher to equal you, or what you have done, and achieved with him. It hasn't always been easy, William has certainly had his 'moments', but you have always managed him, championed him, and always praised him and nurtered him. You have brought out the best in him, instilling good moral standards, truth, honesty and respect, always making sure he's aware of how valued, and respected he is, as a pupil, ultimately turning him into the amazing young man he is today. Your future students are going to be so lucky to have you as their teacher and mentor. I know that William will carry everything he has learnt from you, as he embarks on the next chapter of his educational chapter, into Abbey Hill sixth form. He won't let you down or disappoint you. If William turns out to be a role model, of the amazing person that you are, because of your teaching, patience, guidance, and professionalism, I am going to continue to be a very proud parent. ( And I'm sure he will aspire to do just that). Andy, you deserve this recognition, and more. True dedication, that, as a parent, of a child, with such complex needs, means so much. To everyone else in Abbey Hill, who has supported William through his secondary school years, thank you all. Each and everyone of you, have played a massively important role in his life, and William and myself would like to take this opportunity to say thank you. Our gratitude to you all, especially Andy Pearson, is beyond measure. Keep up the good work. You are all truly amazing people. Andy Pearson, like I mentioned earlier, there will never be another teacher, and mentor that will ever equal you. William is going to miss you, and everyone else so much. Thank you all.

I used go to Abbey Hill school my teacher was called John Youdale

Good school, my kids go here

Hartburn Primary School

Adelaide Grove, Stockton-on-Tees TS18 5BS, UK – 01642 391728

My little boy goes here and we were so delighted that we were able to get him in. He has improved so much in just one year at the school we would not have believed it. The staff are uniformly helpful and pleasant to talk to, they put the children first and the facilities have to be seen to be believed. I cannot say enough good things about this school

The recent change in Headmistress had brought dramatic changes, sadly, not for the better... In my opinion, not that anyone's opinion really matters anymore.

MeSign - British Sign Language Specialists

The Robert Atkinson Centre, Thornaby, Stockton-on-Tees TS17 8AP, UK – 07792 010630

I have attended Mesign for about 4 years to study levels 1 2 and 3 BSL. Their teaching staff is amazing, whom have an amazing person centred approach. I have a medical condition which affects my everyday life including learning/processing information. To assist me with this, they have helped me find a tackle exam pressures and adjusted the environment to help stabilise any possible 'triggers' which could occur. The learning atmosphere is always relaxed and I think its fair to say that everyone enjoys learning and their progress is shown in their excellent signing skills.

Mesign are a fabulous company who teach BSL to anyone willing to learn. From level 1 up to level 3 I have enjoyed every minute of the courses offered. The staff who are there to help you every step of the way, are welcoming and extremely friendly. I have met lots of lovely people through mesign and would recommend them to anyone with interests of learning a new language. BSL opening many doors and lifting many barriers.
